Pupils take tour of £21m new school
16 Dec 2011

Groups of pupils in Staffordshire have been getting a tour of what will eventually be their new school.

Construction has started on a £21 million building that will replace the former Willfield Centre and another building that is currently being used, the Staffordshire Sentinel reports.

It is to be completed in September 2013 and will feature three learning wings, music and drama studios, a cafe, sports centre and gym.

It will also be a base for a studio school, which will have links to local businesses for children who would prefer a practical career to going down the academic route.

Wates Construction, the company involved in the new build, said: "We are delighted to embark on this exciting project."

It may be a good idea for school officials to implement cashless catering at the new building, given that it will be so big.

Contactless smart cards instead of money can reduce queuing at midday and also make it easier for pupils to make healthy meal choices.
