Discount vouchers are a good way to attract new business
1 Nov 2011

Offering customers discount vouchers and loyalty schemes is a great way to attract new business, it has been claimed.

According to Livebookings, vouchers are an attractive option and businesses looking to boost trade should seriously consider using them.

Colin Tenwick, chief executive officer of the firm, said: "With consumers desperate for value, deals are certainly an attractive way to bring customers to any business."

He claimed that social media and online marketing were making discount voucher distribution much more popular. He said it was an innovative solution but the core principal was the same - offering people an incentive to ensure a continuous "flow of customers".

Mr Tenwick noted that dining deals are "here to stay" and urged business to use them to encourage diners at less busy times.

"Set deals up for downtime - lunchtime and early week - as this will boost covers but not detract from your peak profit times," he concluded.

Recently, Sarah Cross, managing director of Uber, said that loyalty schemes need to be well targeted and updated on a regular basis.
