Go Outdoors launches new mobile loyalty scheme

Outdoor equipment retailer Go Outdoors has launched a new loyalty scheme for iPhone users.

The firm has teamed up with mobile marketing firm Mobilize Systems to develop the new Go Outdoors discount card programme, allowing customers to earn and redeem loyalty points by simply swiping their iPhone at the checkout.

It is the first smartphone-based loyalty scheme to be launched nationally and offers benefits to the company itself as well its customers. For example, as no plastic cards or paper vouchers are required, the cost of operating the loyalty programme is vastly reduced.

Claes Kockum, commercial director of Mobilize Systems, said: "The ability to receive and redeem offers through the phone changes the way we shop and interact with our favourite stores.

"Go Outdoors is the first nationwide retailer to realise the potential of fully mobilised loyalty and has been the perfect, enthusiastic partner to bring the first programme to the UK high street."
