Kent loyalty card scheme provides £40k boost to local economy
16 Apr 2012

loyalty card scheme recently launched in a Kent town has provided a huge boost to the local economy, it has been revealed.

Last September, the Eden Valley Chamber of Commerce launched the programme in Edenbridge, offering local residents the chance to win money in a monthly prize draw once they have accumulated enough stamps on their loyalty card.

Eden Valley Chamber of Commerce chairman Peter Kingham revealed that members of the scheme have pumped an extra £40,000 into the economy following their increased spending levels at participating retailers.

Mr Kingham told the Edenbridge Courier: "It's a great result and great for the town.

"We're already starting to get quite a rush of cards being handed in for next month's draw as well."

Shoppers accrue a stamp on their card for every £10 they spend in-store and are then entered into the prize draw once they have collected six stamps.

Businesses involved in the loyalty card scheme include Eden Beauty Therapy, Bladez Barbers, Champion Photographic and Farringtons.
