3 Feb 2012

A new loyalty card scheme has been launched in a town in Essex which aims to attract local shoppers to the area.

Residents of Grays can now sign up the My Loyalty Card scheme, which will offer members discounts at a host of stores in the town centre, reports the Thurrock Gazette.

The scheme, which will cost around £4,000 to set up and launch in time for the Easter holidays, is being sponsored by Grays Shopping Centre.

Keith Evans, Grays Shopping Centre's general manager, told the news provider: "We are delighted to be a part of such a scheme which not only promotes our own retailers, but the local businesses community as a whole.

"My Loyalty Card recently launched this scheme in Kettering in partnership with our sister shopping centre and it has been met with huge success."

Among the stores taking part in the programme is women's clothes retailer Internacionale, with cardholders eligible for a ten per cent discounts when they shop in-store.
