New loyalty card scheme set to be launched in Worcestershire town
27 Mar 2012

A new loyalty card scheme is set to be launched in a Worcestershire town which aims to boost the local economy.

A number of retailers in Pershore are set to take part in The Pride Loyalty Card programme, which offers shoppers the chance to earn discounts at participating stores, reports the Evesham Observer.

Cardholders will receive a stamp each time they spend money in-store and will be entered into a monthly prize draw for a chance to win £25 worth of high street vouchers once they collect ten stamps.

Steve Knight, manager of the Pershore Market Town Partnership, which part-funded the scheme, claimed that the "low-tech" nature the loyalty card will help attract shoppers.

He said: "The whole idea of supporting the local economy which is the Market Town Partnership's and Wychavon District Council's priority is to try and keep the High Street going and show it is still alive and well."

The Pride Loyalty Card programme, which will be available from next month, has been organised by the town's Chamber of Trade.
