News in-depth: Nationwide expands loyalty scheme offers
31 Jan 2012

High street building society Nationwide is set to expand the range of offers available through its loyalty programme, it has been revealed.

On 1st February, members of the Simply Rewards scheme will be able to benefit from a new selection of offers and discounts at major high street brands and stores across the UK.

The Simply Rewards programme is available exclusively to Nationwide's Visa debit and credit card customers and has attracted around 250,000 customers to its website since its official launch three months ago.

Unlike the majority of loyalty programmes in the UK, consumers are not required to register for the scheme or collect any points to redeem at a later date. Instead, consumers simply log on to the Simply Rewards website to access the discounts and then pay for their desired item using their credit or debit card.

Graham Pilkington, Nationwide's banking director, claimed that customers paying with their Nationwide Visa debit and credit card can make big savings with the Simply Rewards scheme.

He said: "Simply Rewards was launched in November 2011 and has proved popular with customers with over a quarter of a million customers already logging on looking to secure discounts on big brands.

"The society reviews these offers on a regular basis, so customers should check regularly to see the latest deals. The scheme continues to reward customer loyalty and is another example of Nationwide being 'on your side'."

Among the firms taking part in the scheme include Butlins, Urban Outfitters, Gourmet Society, Kwik Fit, entertainment agency aka Promotions and Virgin Holidays will also be available at the Simply Rewards website.

Gourmet restaurant Carluccio's is offering Nationwide customers a free bottle of wine when they book a table for two, while those staying in a Holiday Inn can get 35 per cent off a stay at the hotel chain.
