South Yorkshire bus passengers to benefit from new loyalty scheme
29 Dec 2011
People who travel by bus in south Yorkshire will be able to benefit from a new loyalty scheme that offers them discounts on future travel.
According to the Star, Stagecoach Yorkshire is to invite anyone who buys a ticket online to join. Each time they make purchases for further journeys, they will accumulate points which can be exchanged for rewards and gifts, as well as discounted travel passes.
Stagecoach Yorkshire managing director Paul Lynch said he is excited about the initiative.
"The project will provide a further incentive for people to try our greener, smarter bus services," he added.
Stagecoach connects communities in more than 100 towns and cities in the UK, running a fleet of around 8,100 buses and coaches.
It has invested almost £300 million in state-of-the-art vehicles in the past four years.
Stagecoach could consider adding contactless payment technology to its buses, something that has already been tried by other companies to reduce queuing and speed up services.
