Virgin’s out of this world loyalty reward
25 Jul 2012
Flight provider, Virgin America, has announced a loyalty reward prize that is literally out of this world.
Virgin has introduced an element of competition for frequent fliers who are part of the Elevate reward scheme. The member who receives the most points between August 8th 2012 and August 8th 2013 will be rewarded with a seat on the sub-orbital space flight, Virgin Galactic. Tickets for this anti-gravity experience currently stand at $200,000 (£129,000).
As Virgin approaches its five year anniversary of its current loyalty programme, it will also be introducing even more benefits.
These include, depending on the level of loyalty membership, priority check-in, security clearance and boarding, free checked bag allowances and the ability to upgrade to seats in economy with more leg room.
Virgin America president and CEO David Cush said: “We’ve been fortunate enough to attract a loyal guest following, and are pleased to take Elevate to the next level by offering meaningful new benefits for our most valued travellers.”
