Waitrose introduces loyalty scheme
1 Nov 2011

Waitrose has introduced its first loyalty scheme in a bid to offer rewards to loyal customers.

The supermarket is sending out the first of its my-Waitrose cards this month to people who are online club members or enrolled on the John Lewis Partnership Card database.

Anyone who does not receive one through these methods can also sign up online or by picking up a card in one of the stores.

The loyalty scheme has been introduced after research about how customers would like to be rewarded and will provide exclusive competitions and special offers for cardholders.

As an added incentive, a prize draw will take place each month that will see one winner win back the cost of their shopping for four weeks.

Customer relationship managers at Waitrose Leigh Rengger said it is hoped that the cards will provide a good way to say thank-you to returning customers.

This week, it has been announced that Waitrose saw an 11.8 per cent increase in sales in the week to October 22nd 2011, which was attributed to endorsements from celebrity chefs Heston Blumenthal and Delia Smith.
