"sQuid integrates with Cunninghams cashless system"
12 January 2010

sQuid, the ePayments provider, has accounced its new partnership with Cunninghams, the EPOS solutions company, to deliver simple, seamless payments for students to pay for meals and school and on campus.

Cunninghams is one of the leading providers of EPOS systems in education, and are working with sQuid to enable cashless payments at the point of sale, integrated with the student’s online sQuid account.

The aim of both parties is to remove the need for cash in schools.  sQuid has been providing a smartcard based solution in a number of schools across the UK, including Sheldon School in Chippenham and St Augustine’s Catholic College in Trowbridge where it has proved to be a great success amongst parents and school staff members.  Extending the sQuid service with Cunninghams will create opportunities for other schools to benefit too.

Alan Vigers, National Sales Manager at Cunninghams stated that, “We are very excited about the integration of our cashless system with sQuid’s ePayment technology. This means much less administration for the school, as well as creating another simple and innovative way for children to pay for their school meals.”

By making online top ups, parents can quickly and easily load money onto their child’s sQuid account, and with the ability to view transactions online, they can be certain that their child is spending money on food and drink at school.

Adam Smith, Managing Director at sQuid said, “We are dedicated to lowering administration costs from schools and making life easier for parents and students.  Combining our sophisticated ePayment platform with Cunninghams cashless systems will help make that a reality for many more schools, and opens up new possibilities in delivering flexible, low cost payment services for schools and campuses.”

The sQuid-Cunninghams partnership enables seamless payment solutions working with both biometric and smartcards, giving school managers the choice of operating systems combined with the benefits of the sQuid eMoney account.
